New Opportunities

Growing Demand for Greener Paving Alternatives
Represents An Opportunity for You to Grow Your Business!

Now, more than ever, people are concerned about the environment. State DOTs, Town, and City Street
Departments are responding to the concern of elected officials and citizens in their communities by actively
looking for greener solutions. Homeowners and businesspeople are increasingly concerned about the
impact their daily activities have on the environment, and many have even demonstrated a willingness to
pay more for solutions that are environmentally friendly. ECOBIT™ warm mix from All States Materials Group®
is the perfect solution. As demand for ECOBIT™ warm mix grows, so will the opportunities for both producers
and contractors to increase market share.

ECOBIT™ Warm Mix Uses Proven Technology

While this green alternative is relatively new in the U.S., it has been proven with over ten years
of successful use in Europe.

Tests in the U.S. have shown that warm mix asphalt's durability is equal to, or better than,
conventional hot mix asphalt.

For Producers

ECOBIT™ Means Dramatic Reductions in Fumes and Fewer Odors at the Plant

Since the ECOBIT™ warm mix manufacturing process produces fewer fumes and fewer odors during production,
your relationships with neighbors and your image in the communities in which you operate will be enhanced.

ECOBIT™ Warm Mix Means Significant Cost Savings at the Plant

ECOBIT™ warm mix asphalt uses a process that allows production at temperatures that are 50 to 70 degrees
cooler than those generated by traditional hot mix asphalt. ECOBIT™ reduces energy costs because less fuel is
needed to produce a ton of asphalt. Asphalt plant stack emissions are also significantly reduced and fuel consumption
drops by 11 to 30 percent when compared to traditional asphalt plants. Finally, when warm mix is being used, recycled
asphalt pavement (RAP) can be increased, thereby further decreasing costs, fuel consumption, emissions, and
greenhouse gas production.

For Contractors

No Special Equipment is Required

ECOBIT™ warm mix asphalt can be placed using conventional hot mix paving equipment and methods.
This means you will be able to bid on projects in which you specify a warm mix solution, without the need
to consider new or modified paving equipment.

ECOBIT™ Uses Less Energy and Produces Fewer Emissions During Paving

ECOBIT™ warm mix asphalt technology has been shown to reduce the temperatures at which the asphalt pavement
is mixed and placed on the road by 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. These cooler temperatures mean reduced fuel
consumption, the production of fewer greenhouse gases, and reduced worker fatigue during the paving process.
This will help you increase productivity while reducing costs.

An Ideal Solution for Paving Near Sensitive Areas

Reduced fumes and odors make ECOBIT™ warm mix an ideal solution when paving near
sensitive areas such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes.

Safe Near Sensitive Areas

Your Paving Project is Less Dependent on the Weather

Warm mix asphalt paving can be done in colder weather, so the paving season is extended, allowing you
to take on additional projects each year and improve your bottom line.

Fewer Emissions and Lower Temperatures Mean
Your Project can be Completed on Schedule.

Federal and regional air quality regulations already limit emissions in non-attainment1 areas. Warm mix
gives contractors in these (non-attainment) areas opportunities to produce asphalt and avoid problems
with emissions regulations.

The result? You can minimize downtime and increase productivity.

For Producers and Contractors

ECOBIT™ Warm Mix Gives You More Time To Get There

ECOBiT™ warm mix asphalt's characteristics enable contractors to transport the product longer distances
from plant to project site, which will enable producers and contractors to expand their market areas.

ECOBIT™ Warm Mix Asphalt is Just as Durable as Conventional Hot Mix Asphalt

Lower production temperatures mean the binder may age less in the production process. This means
less thermal cracking and improved long-term durability.

Exceptional Workability

Its workability really shows when ECOBIT™ is used doing handwork, such as shoveling, raking, and
filling potholes. And, ECOBIT's cooler temperature reduces worker fatigue and increases productivity.

1. In United States environmental law, a non-attainment area is an area considered to have air quality worse than the National Ambient Air Quality Standards as defined in the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1970 (P.L. 91-604, Sec. 109). Non-attainment areas must have and implement a plan to meet the standard, or risk losing some forms of federal financial assistance. An area may be a non-attainment area for one pollutant and an attainment area for others.
